Did I forget to do a newsletter for May? No. That’s not true. Not at all! I remembered to do it, and it was incredible, and you loved it.
What happened the last two months? Let’s see: We did the final Gender Ordeal show at the Bell House (which went incredible)! My band played the inaugural LIBERATION WEEKEND festival in DC, one of the best weekends of my life (our next show is July 11th in NYC)! I went to the beach yesterday! I got a new tattoo! Oh, and this exciting thing got settled:

The other thing is that preordering Simplicity Would Be So Cool of You, Actually!!

It’s out in less than a month. She's been anticipated in WaPo, NYMag, Bustle, The Beat, Book Riot, LitHub, and more! The Comic Book Herald said it was one of the best books of the year! Anyway you can PREORDER it, which if you didn’t know is so important for a book’s success – it determines stuff like its placement in stores, bestseller lists, and all sorts of other arcane publishing stuff that I don’t quite understand. It’s out July 29th so this is my final preorder plea to you in the newsletter: If you’re excited at all about the book, or like my work (or if you hate me personally but want to see my locked in the gilded cage of my own success, going mad like a transsexual Charles Foster Kane), I implore you! Preorder now!

Oh one more book thing! If you are so inclined to get the book from your local comic shop, if you get the preorder in before the 7/7 comic shop final order cutoff date, you’ll get a FREE comic I wrote and drew set in the same universe as the book!

Frog and Peach Report

Scrumbling Around Corner
Last weekend for a friend’s birthday, a bunch of us went upstate, specifically to the Mohonk Preserve, where we conquered something called The Labyrinth and Lemon Squeeze, which involved a “rock scramble” up the side of a mountain, squeezing in and around a bunch of rock formations called like “headache rock” and “the crevice.” The final bit of it was shimmying up the titular Lemon Squeeze, and emerging through a tiny crack in a rock on the top of the Shawangunk Ridge. It was harrowing! I somehow did this the day after playing two softball games in a heat advisory (I hit what was absolutely a home run ball but was robbed by a girl possessed by the spirit of Willie Mays very suddenly. I’m not mad about it.) and took a top-five shower of my life when I got home. No point to this story really, except I really love “exercising” now and it’s destroying my brain. Help me!

And don’t forget of course my damn PODCASTS!
No Gods No Mayors has been tremendously fun of late!
Temporal Culture War had some fun bonus episodes! We watched the inexplicably kickass The Musketeer (2001) and also we watched the West Wing 9/11 Very Special Episode and i almost leapt out a window.
Odds and Ends
Hopped on Kill James Bond! to chat about one of my favorite movies, A Serious Man, and also to explain American Judaism to my three British friends.
Me and my friend Calvin went on the Are You Afraid of the Dark Universe? podcast to pitch them a reboot of the Bill Shatner Esperanto(!) movie Incubus.
